Oracle does clearly say to create a single partition on a disk and use it. One of the replies did list same reference I have. There is situation, though, where you may loose your entire DG. If one adds DISK100 first & later a second adds DISK100p1. To prevent that, keep former disk owned by root & 2nd by grid. Furthermore, make sure your ASM string only shows *p1.
