[Slightly OT] - Datawarehouse and configuration management process

I'm analyzing how, in a data warehouse project, a process of 'change management' might be deployed. In particular if you consider for example a single DW fact table which dependencies (aka configuration items) are needed and with which dependencies? Have you ever faced this 'methodology issue' ? Any hint?
