  Not all RAC classes are bad, that too just because a class is cheaper doesn't mean that the quality of the instructor, content or delivery is bad. I can tell you, cost of many expert level classes are cheaper and the quality is superior.

  It is not too hard to install RAC or learn how to use srvctl/crsctl utilities. Those are easy pieces and there is ample amount of documentation available. Understanding nuts and bolts of RAC, seeing the concepts through actual demo, debugging real life scenarios and remembering those intricate details is very important to debug real life RAC problems properly.
