I'm afraid it does. There's no check to see if the db is already started, no check to see if its starting with the correct owner, no attempt to account for listener names or owners and so on. I'd be interested, haven't checked, on what happens with single instance databases post 11.2.0.1 that are upgraded not via dbua. My suspicion is autostart will break.
