rootpre.sh on AIX6.1 for 11.2.0.2 oracle installation

Hi All,
server : AIX 6.1
It has already oracle 11.1.0.7 is installed. Production database
I am going to install 11.2.0.2 in an new oracle home.
Can you please confirm rootpre.sh need to run for 11.2.0.2 installation?
If i run rootpre.sh is it affect live other databases(11.1.0.7)
I have refered the below link..Is It Still NecessaryTto Run the Rootpre.sh Script When Installing Oracle on AIX 5L and above? [ID 201622.1]
Please provide your input on this.
