I did some playing around with this early last year. My first approach was using a 3rd party tool to add the needed network infrastructure. Didn't get all the way there, but I did get quite far. Might work now if you try with some later 11gR2 releases... I know there have been enhancements to the interconnect code and I might have been getting stuck there.

Another possible approach would be using either linux containers or user-mode linux to virtualize within a single EC2 instance. This is what I want to try next, but I haven't had time to work on it yet. Hoping to have some time when I'm back home from Africa in May. :)
