If you plan to go the syslog route, it might be worthwhile reading the first chapter in Norbert Debes - Secrets of the Oracle Database where AUDIT_SYSLOG_LEVEL is clasified as a partially documented parameter, and a streightforward explanation as to how to configure the parameter is included.
