artificially limit child cursors number

Hi,
before release 11 there was artificial limit for child cursor number (like 1024), since 11 the limit is lifted . I'm pretty sure I saw some workaround/event we can set to bring back limit , but
cant find it now .
So maybe someone can help me with that ? Thanks.
