And of course the interesting question is whether they would all run more effectively non-RAC as something like 10 databases on each node.

... And how you would figure that out.

We have a 3-node 11gR2 cluster supporting 30 databases. The biggest issue is with patching - it takes a while to bring down all resources for a given RDBMS $OH on any node in order to apply a PSU to that node. Best,
