Here is some more info, which will probably just confuse the issue even more. Select * from v$option where value = 'FALSE'; select * from v$option order by parameter; returns about 65 options.
See notes 1069015.1, 378159.1, 297551.1, 739032.1, 948061.1, 888934.1
ar -t libknlopt.a | grep -c <file> retuning 0 means you are not using this option in the database.
I have found that 1271072.1 is a small part of the issue. One might be aware that it does not remove anything from the database, and will affect all databases running on that oracle home.
Of course the best and actually easiest is to not install them at all.... but then again Oracle itself uses some options such as partitioning with the EM repository DB. The bottom line is that if they are installed, then it might be easiest to start over with a fresh software install... but then again you still have your old database... :)
For myself, I'm looking to definitely show that any/every option has not been used, or has been used. One would think it would be easy... I shouldn't do that.
