Hi Larry,

So, as you are probably aware the idea behind IDP is to determine where on disk the space for the Diskgroup is located, with the outer tracks giving the better performance.

By default exadata is doing exactly this, with the DATA DG being created first it will start at the outermost, while the RECO DG created second will be further in and finally the SYSTEM_DG (or DBFS_DG) created on the innermost.
