What you could do is use a Flash Recovery Area (FRA) in ASM, which will hold your archive logs, flash recovery logs etc. Also create a filesystem used for RMAN backup: this will only be mounted on one node at a time, but the disk will be defined so you can unmount it from node 1 and mount to node 2 and up as needed for recovery. This assumes you are using a non-cluster aware filesystem (not NFS, OCFS, Veritas Cluster File system etc.). If you are using a cluster-aware filesystem then go ahead and mount to all nodes if you want. Periodically you run a RMAN process to pick up new archive logs and write them to the filesystem, thus keeping your FRA cleaned up. If you are using tape backup directly to Oracle (like Netbackup with RMAN api) then this may not apply.
