nope, no (useful) replies yet.

One thing we found is that the /u00 filesystem where binaries are located (which is a NFS mount) has the following parameters: rw,bg,hard,nointr,tcp,nfsvers=3,timeo=600,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,actimeo=0

We are going to remove actimeo=0 once we have a downtime window and see how it goes from there...
