I wasn't arguing against ANSI join syntax because Oracle's adoption of it is buggy but because the optimizer as of current doesn't understand it very well and makes bad decisions as a result. If you have a problem, performance or wrong results, with a SQL written with ANSI join syntax you are well advised to try and rewrite it in Oracle syntax - and open an SR, particularly in the case of wrong results.
