We have got Grid Control running on a seperate server -- OMS is 10.2.0.5 on AIX.

I have another server/databases that are 11.1.0.7 on Linux RHEL5 x86-64 bit and I want to install an agent on it so it/databases can be monitored. Is it possible to just install 10.2.0.5 agent or is it better to install 10.2.0.3 and then upgrade to 10.2.0.5? On OTN, there are two different types of .zip files that you can download. One states it is for Mass Deployment and is only one zip file whereas the other option is multiple zip files. Can you download the Mass Deployment .zip to one target and use it there for just that one target?

Somebody mentioned to me that they had issues trying to just install 10.2.0.5 on AIX. They ended up using 102.0.4 and then upgraded to 10.2.0.5. However, it looks like there were issues with 10.2.0.4 on Linux agent.

Does anybody have any experience with this?

Long story short, can I download the .zip file for 10.2.0.5 agent for Linux RHEL5 called "mass deployment" for 11.1.0.7 databases and install it on just one server for monitoring? Has anyone been able to successfully do that?
