Has the problem existed for 2 years and they just didn't notice it, or did the problem just start 6 weeks ago and before that things were running faster on the same hardware? If the problem has existed since moving to the new servers, then you're most likely just facing the known issue of a major CPU bottleneck with these servers (see MOS Doc ID 781763.1, and search the archives for T2000). If the problem just started 6 weeks ago, then I'd start with researching all system changes around that time including changes in database stats, explain plans and query bind variables. Sorry, no experience with page coalescing.

Server and database have been up close to 2 years and they just noticed these processes running longer about 6 weeks ago. They put a new release in TEST but claim problem started just prior to that. Not refuting that.
