Andrew ,

I have not seen catupgrd take more than 1 or 1.5 hrs.

Read in the below doc (page 14) that catupgrd wud run slow if shared pool is too small. http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=202202:2:1561209722487425:APPLICATION_PROCESS=downloadFile:::F20225_ID:61
