Do you need to recover the production db or do you need to clone it to test/dev? In the first case, I would suggest opening a service request with Oracle support, but you are probably out of luck (maybe they can open the db temporary to allow you to unload the data as much as possible). In the second case, restart with a fresh, correctly taken, backup.

And oh yeah, after that, tell your client he needs more dba consultancy

I've a tricky situation in one of my client environment. My client was taken an hot backup without putting the database in backup mode and in that backup he was not included archivelogs also. Now we are facing the problem like system tablespace needs recovery while cloing it to test environment. Can anybody suggest on this.
