Create a shortcut to the setup and add the switch, '-ignoreSysPrereqs' to the target.

Target: "C:\bla\blabla\setup.exe" -ignoreSysPrereqs

You may still need to manually bypass the check during setup, but you need to do this before setup even launches.

The other way around this is to modify oraparam.ini:

[Certified Versions]

#You can customise error message shown for failure, provide value for CERTIFIED_VERSION_FAILURE_MESSAGE Windows=5.0,5.1,5.2,6.0

Subject: 10.2.0.4 fails to install on Windows 7

I am following note 1173433.1 for installing 10.2.0.4 on Windows 7. According to the note, you should be able to tell the GUI to ignore the error. However, the GUI never launches. All I get is a dos box that is checking os version and complains that version 6.1 is not valid. Is there a step missing in the note for doing this install?
