The devil is in the details - it all depends on type of workload you have (one OLTP != another OLTP). You can look for some information at http://www.sap.com/solutions/benchmark/sd2tier.epx In general Intel Nehalem is faster in single-threaded operations then Sparc VII+ CPU.
