DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO and Business Objects Data Integrator

Anyone successful in getting ETL developers using Business Objects Data Integrator to use DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO for setting module and action? Interested in getting this done for the usual reasons.
Research on typical BO forums and sites turns up just a couple of references, something along the lines of doing this in pre/post target events, with the product manager of the tool recommending against it, but not specifying why, and the post was a few years old.
Looking to see if anyone else has done this in their environment and the details on how they did it, something I can relay back to the developers and work with them on testing and implementing.
