I don´t have access to my scripts right now, but as far as I remember it went something like this:
  1. create new pfile for new db (init_newdb.ora)
  2. startup nomount the new instance
  3. set new db as ORACLE_SID
  4. rman target sys/manager_at_original auxiliary=/ catalog=I_hope_i_have_this/rman_at_rmancatalogdatabasewiiiiiii
  5. duplicate database until sysdate-4 (you can exclude tablespaces here)
  6. export/import wooohooo! (you may need to create the controlfiles manually before the duplicate, but I'm not sure, and you can use the set newname to remap datafile names and redolog files)

I hope this helps... and I'm sorry I cannot give you a set of scripts (of course I scripted this after the second time I had to do it)

just as a curiosity, what kind of backup do you have? are you using flashback? how far back do your flashback logs go?
