Interesting -- we've had a windows to linux migration - including version upgrade at the same time - done with it too, and it worked perfectly fine (even though I was skeptical at first as well)

But then, we've had several tests of the entire process done beforehand with identical test systems, which gave us confidence to go ahead with production.
