I read that Toad 10.5 has a new freeware version.

I have a few business users (who can't really do SQLplus), runs adhoc data pulls/validation.
Currently they connect to the db using MS Access/ODBC to view the data. Constantly they run into situations where their client session dies without disconnecting at the database. If they restart Access, until someone clears their database session, Access doesn't seem to respond.

I am wondering if there are free or low cost tools which is more stable.. Would Oracle Apex help in this scenario?
