This is why we have found and followed ...
- each db has its own DG's (data + fra) for accounting and sla
requirements.
- for rac, we have 3; data, fra, and grid

- number and size of luns per dg for a db is a function of current and projected db growth. It happened that we use 100g luns.
As far rules, this is what i know ...
ASM has the following size limits:
• 63 disk groups in a storage system • 10,000 ASM disks in a storage system • 1 million files for each disk group
