I think I've found the reason of this unusual behaviour of LinkedIn (or whatever else).

Robert, you sent the invitation to David Best (right?), so I opened the mail full header and found that David Best address was oracle-l_at_freelists.org.

Anyway, as Mark Bobak said, no great harm derived.....I'd rather receive a LinkedIn invitation every day, instead of dozens of *real* annoying spam :))
