Sorry for the delay in responding; I decided to avoid anything to do with work while I took a much needed vacation. Thanks for the information. It's exactly what the vendor was telling me. It's my understanding the the product is mod_sql. We are licensed for EE on all database servers so we will not be violating any licensing.
