Ah I had missed the partitioning requirements. That implies enterprise edition. It might be time to competitively evaluate masala and db2 which both compete in this space, if the deals worth enough this is both sensible for your employer and likely to change available discounts. Anytime software costs that much more than both the hardware and the competitor something should give and its usually initial margin.
