On my 10.2.04 db it only shows the info from the db server. Ie. No matter where you connect from it just shows stuff like TCP/IP NT Protocol Adapter for Linux: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production

Try looking in SYS.V$_SESSION_CONNECT_INFO.
There are columns there (at least in my 11.1.0.7) called CLIENT_VERSION and CLIENT_DRIVER. These may be what you need.
