You shoul upgrade the database itself to. Check the readme of the 10.2.0.4 patch for which steps you should follow to upgrade the database.

Subject: Upgrading from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4

Hi

I am planning to upgrade a dataabse from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4.

I have create a new oracle home containing the new binaries of 10.2.0.4.For upgrading my existing 10.2.0.3 database should i simply point my database to the new 10.2.0.4 home or i should also be running the catupgrd.sql script ?

regards
Hrishy
