Hi Bob, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're saying, but I duplicated this on both 8i and 10g databases and IIRC, there weren't multiple block sizes back in 8i and if there were, we weren't using them in either of the databases I tested in.

Also, could the issue be contributed to allowing different block sizes in different tablespaces? Might the code try to save time by writing the whole block to the tablespace if there is enough free space?
