I think the real winner here is EnterpriseDB, who licensed their tech to
IBM, possibly as part of IBM's investment in the company.

The reality is that Oracle DBAs won't want to support DB2 even if it has
Oracle compatibility, and like the article says, organizations with COTS
products won't want to risk losing support from the vendor.
