Hi Kellyn,

If by "Oracle Financials", you mean Oracle E-Business Suite, then there are a strict set of parameters that cannot be changed, and CURSOR_SHARING should be set to EXACT in EBS. Is this 11i or R12? I believe even for the older versions (10.7 and below) CS needed to be set to EXACT.

Brian et al,

There was a very interesting paper on Shared pool internals written by Russell Green and others for OOW 2005 that answers these questoins. I don't have it currently but am sure google will find that for you.

In this particular case, the best thing to do is to pin what you can and let the other crap cycle in and out of the shared pool.
