Yep same thing - for testing vmotion and oracle, I started a transaction without committing it, then did the vmotion thing, then did the commit in the same Oracle database session. And oracle database didn't have clue about vmotion. Quite impressive

One more thing I'll add to the previous discussion that I don't think I mentioned before - I have actually witnessed a live transfer of an Oracle database (and its underlying virtual/guest host) from one physical host to another via VMotion (http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vmotion_datasheet.pdf) and database connections/sessions were kept intact, so I can confirm it works as advertised - at least in the one case where I tested it.
