How RMAN handles end of tape?

Hi DBAs,
- Is RMAN capable of identifying a Tape reaching its end?
- Can RMAN be configured to wait for next tape to be loaded, when a tape on which backup is being written to reaches its end of tape?
Please share your experiences.
