clone oracle binary

Hi buddies,

I always use EM grid control to clone oracle_home for an oracle binary installation.

But everything has an exception, right? I have to install an oracle binary in some sever without install media CD and EM grid control agent.

Someone told me that to tar the oracle rdbms home and untar that to another
new oracle_home location can do the same thing, i am wondering is that enough ?

need i run some post job to fulfill an oracle_home clone ?
