level of redundancy in an Oracle RAC extended cluster

Dear All,
I would like to simplify the infrastructure by letting the Oracl RAC take care of system failure at the level of the system, do not need to provide extra network cards, and bonding for redundancy of the private, and public Ethernet interconnects? why should we have also two SAN switches. what do you think?
