they are supported, yes

we hit a strange bug recently where if (a) your source DB is 10.2.0.3 and (b) your target DB is 10.2.0.4 and (c) you have a partitioned table with LOB and (d) you are doing an update which causes row migration and (d) you are using downstream capture => capture will crash. 11G expressed the same behavior and upgrading source to 10.2.0.4 fixed the issue.

the above is very specific set of events but the point is -- don't forget to test your cases first, there still seems to be a lot of bugs even after the thing (Streams) has existed for such a long time....
