FW: rman strangeness

Sorry, the backup piece does not show up in the recovery catalog at all. Disregard the validate backupset output.  

According to rman, the backup to tape failed. According to Veritas it succeeded.

I've been battling rman strangeness for some time. Every couple of days, messages like the following will show up in our rman logs:

ORA-27192: skgfcls: sbtclose2 returned error - failed to close file

ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text:

   VxBSAEndTxn: Failed with error:

   The transaction was aborted.

ORA-19600: input file is backup piece
(/oraback1/flash_recovery_area/REMGT/backupset/2008_06_02/o1_mf_nnndf_TA G20080602T013340_4476rf8l_.bkp)

ORA-19601: output file is backup piece (91jhsnlt_1_2)  

Recovery Manager complete.  

We use veritas' netback to write to tape. Veritas reports everything as completing successfully.  

When I validate the backupset this piece is a part of, it validates properly:
