ORACLE_SID for Data Guard 11g

Hi guys,
if I have Primary DB that having different DB_NAME and DB_UNIQUE_NAME what should be my ORACLE_SID?
I able to start the DB using ORACLE_SID = DB_NAME and also with ORACLE_SID=DB_UNIQUE_NAME Off course standby db is in different machine.
