No, shared is faster, dedicated is factors of 10 slower. Other way round I wouldn't have messed around, nobody wants to execute this statements in shared server mode - we found out about shared mode "by accident" when we tried this from our web server and it was faster there.

90% of the time: CPU. In shared mode for seconds, in dedicated mode for hours. ADDM via Grid Control didn't find anything smelly.

Any ideas out of that? I am stumped at the moment :( Thanks
