Note:419937.1 says reducing loopback interface MTU may help. I have doubt about it but it doesn't hurt to try. Even if it works, it's probably just a bandaid. I'm not sure why they look at loopback. Shouldn't the traffic on the interconnect go on a private interface using UDP (default IPC protocol)?
When your problem happens, do you have low LowFree in /proc/meminfo and 0's for 32k chunks in /proc/buddyinfo? See Note:452326.1 for details.
