Re: 2 node RAC to 1 node DG config question

It could be either standalone instance or RAC cluster on contingency site. In either case you will have 2 redo threads directed to a single instance performing managed recovery. In RAC configuration second instance will be in just mounted mode. Keep in mind if you want to have RAC on contingency you better off with DG broker in order to integrate with CRS correctly. If you do now want to use DG broker some additional coding needs to be done to bring standby into managed recovery under CRS control. Nothing fancy but you will need to learn how ONS works. That will also add additional manual steps into swithover/failover process.
