I have a couple of rx7640's and rx4640's Itanium's with HP-UX. There's constantly stuff breaking in them and performance stinks. I'm used to large Solaris boxes with 20+ CPU's and so is the company I work for so they put many databases on the same box and the Itaniums just can't handle that. I suppose if you provision boxes to suit it might work out for you, but I still think reliability is an issue.
