Senior ORACLE Data Base Administrator -

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

This position requires a high degree of initiative in researching, identifying and resolving performance issues in database design, expert in database configuration settings, isolating and resolving issues with specific queries and database related scripting. Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ORACLE Databases. Responsible for day to day administration of ORACLE databases Plan and develop database configurations, redundancy and fail over testing. Maintain database user accounts. Provide technical support for all ORACLE databases. Responsible for programming and scripting as it relates to position. Responsible for performance monitoring and capacity planning for ORACLE databases.

Required Skills:
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years ORACLE database administration 9i and 10i. (Database Creation, Configuration, Replication, Data Warehousing, Performance Monitoring and Tuning (OEM), Disk Space Management, Security Administration, and Backup and Recovery on HP-UX and RedHat Linux). SQL Server and mysql .
Unix / Linux monitoring and database performance tuning. Unix Scripting Languages ( Shell, Perl, Awk, Sed, etc ) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Skilled knowledge with the support of business and/or mission critical systems environments
Strong organizational skills
Off hours, 24x7x365 on call
Must be able to work independently.
Candidate must have the drive to quickly analyze and resolve any issues that arise.
