processes parameter in init.ora since NOT set was defaulting to a value of 40 which was overruling any parallel_max_servers value set higher than 25

Folks

When setting parallel_max_servers to any value Higher than 25 in init.ora, SQL> show parameters parallel_max_servers shows a Value of 25 Only, after db startup

NOTE Values Lower than 25, if set, are reflecting Correctly in SQL> show parameters Output

Qs - What is the Cause & what corrective action is needed to set parallel_max_servers to a Value Higher than 25?

DB Server Machine = 8 CPUs
Solaris 10
Oracle 10.2.0.2
