I agree an hour is rather long - I take 15 minute snapshots instead (also from a script provided by Tim Gorman at evdbt.com), but it sounds like the OP is just trying to do trend analysis, not pinpoint a specific performance problem so I think what he's doing is probably okay for that.

What problem are you trying to resolve? Is there a performance problem? Hourly snapshots - keep in mind that a lot can occur in an hour.
