General Comments
Seeking an experienced, technically superior Oracle Database Administrator to join dynamic IT staff. This position will ensure the integrity, reliability, security, capability and performance of our enterprise data infrastructure, with a focus on data models and database designs, data access and security, identification and resolution of database performance issues, database capacity issues, disaster recovery, and other distributed data issues.

Review, develop, and design data models using standard diagramming techniques, in conjunction with application/engineering development teams, and create logical data models for physical database structures that integrate with existing or proposed database structures. Monitor relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use, and physical implementations of databases. Manage a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues, and new applications. Monitor and manage database backups, logs, and journals. Install, maintain, and upgrade database software. Restore and/or recover data as required.
Provide business analysis for large projects. Participate in an on-call rotation, including being available on a 24x7 basis for the on-call week and responding to issues and notifications within the allotted time frames.

Required Skills:

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field. 2-4 years of professional database administration. Oracle 9i/10g OCP certification desired but not required. Expert knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL, SourceSafe, Windows 2003 Server, object-oriented analysis and design, INFORMIX and Unix/Linux. Comprehensive understanding of the principles of database administration and proficiency in deploying and maintaining enterprise database installations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
