Here is the process that we followed.

  1. Connect as the SYSMAN user in grid control.
  2. Configure the SYSMAN user for all email notification.
  3. Create a user called PAGING_USER that has the paging email address assigned for notification and assign only the production group to it.
  4. Create copies of each public notification rule and take out the metrics from the copies that do not need paging.
  5. Adjust the rules accordingly in the copy notification rules as to what severity that you will page on.
  6. Connect as the PAGING_USER and subscribe to the copy notification rules.
  7. Adjust the notification schedules also as to when you want to page/email.

Subject: Multiple notification schemes Grid 10.2.0.3

We've set up 2 groups, production and test/dev in our Grid deployment, version 10.2.0.3. Can anyone tell me how to set up different notifications for each group of targets? We'd like to keep it simple, one email for production that pages us, another email for test/dev that simply emails.

Thanks- Chris
