While the datafiles will work, the archivelog files ( and IIRC the controlfiles)
are not in the same format between 32bit and 64bit databases.

I've tried restoring a 64bit Linux database to 32bit server. The datafiles work, the controlfiles/archivelogs do not.

I moved a bunch of Win32 databases to 64bit Linux. It was all done via export/import.
